About me

In addition to being a qualified & experienced psychotherapist & relationship counsellor, I have worked as a philosopher & professional jazz pianist. I am married with children.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Relationship Therapy from Relate, a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Sussex, & I am listed in the Relate Practitioners Directory & on Psychology Today.

I have been in private practice for 10 years & work with clients in the UK & beyond.

For 25 years I taught philosophy at Richmond, The American International University in London.

For many years I was house pianist at The Ivy and Le Pont de la Tour, and headlined the Jazz Café with my trio.

About a session

First sessions are free. Check my avalability and book a session at a time that suits you here.

Sessions normally last one hour, 90 minutes or 2 hours. I work from my private consulting room in Hampton in the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames, either in person or by video (FaceTime, Zoom & Skype).

I work daytimes, evenings, & weekends . My earliest session is at 8am, & my last at 8.30pm. I can see you once a week, or you may prefer to book sessions ad-hoc.

Your first free session is not just information-gathering - we discuss the issues.

I believe in fostering a warm relationship with clients to help us examine complex life issues.

About relationship counselling

Relationship counselling works!  80% of respondents to a Relate survey said counselling had significantly improved their relationship.

Relationship counselling is for both couples and individuals, whether currently in relationships or not. I welcome clients of all backgrounds and sexualities.

Relationship Counselling is a specialist form of therapy, so it is best to work with someone who has training in this specific area. I am trained in psychodynamic, systemic, TA & CBT models and always happy to discuss the approaches I use, and suggest reading you might find helpful.

You can try relationship counselling withourt commitment to see if you think it might help: first sessions are always free and without commitment to continue.
