Psychosexual & Relationship Therapy
What to expect, if we're talking about sex
Psychosexual & relationship therapy is a talk-based therapy — there is no physical contact involved.
It is always completely confidential, non-judgmental, & tailored to your unique needs.
We will always talk about sex-in-context. In other words, sex as part of your relationship or life as an individual, not as a completely separate area.
Psychosexual & relationship therapy is 'sex-positive' - which means it aims to increasing each person's pleasure in sex aligned with your personal & relational needs.
We may talk about your personal & family history, and explore the emotional and psychological influences on your ideas around relationships, sex and sexual pleasure. The ways in which we learned about sex & relationships & the attitude of our families is often significant, and will likely be different for each partner.
We will look at the meaning sex has in a relationship, which also may be different for each partner: 'what do we each 'need' from sex? - how do we get started? - and what else is important (like holding)?
Psychosexual and relationship therapy is a safe space where we can openly discuss our differences without fear of conflict, shame or embarrassment.
You are always free at any time to ask me questions about sex and relationships, about the breadth of human relationships and sexual behaviours, preferences and fantasies, sexual orientations, types of relationship, porn use, what is so-called 'normal' behaviour – and anything else that interests you.
Sex therapy can be seen as a confidential personal seminar.
If you have any queries or questions, or would just like to find out more, please feel free to contact me by phone, text or email and we can chat informally before you decide to proceed. Otherwise, just book your first free session.
